About Buckfield Farm

a Journey from Passion to farm florist

It all started with love and a simple bouquet.

For years, my husband would surprise me every once in a while with the most beautiful flowers. I’d light up every time he walked through the door holding a colorful bunch, and I cherished every petal. But after a while, I started thinking… what if I could grow these flowers myself?

One day, instead of asking for another bouquet, I looked at him and said, “Next time, instead of buying me flowers… could you just bring me some seeds?”

He laughed, but he did it. He brought home packets of zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, and a few other beauties. I planted those seeds in our little backyard, watered them, and watched in amazement as they grew into the most vibrant flowers I’d ever seen.

Before long, our tiny garden wasn’t enough. Friends started asking for bouquets, then neighbors, then local brides. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. We cleared more land, built our first flower beds, and started learning everything we could about growing cut flowers in East Tennessee soil.

And that’s how Buckfield Farm Flowers was born.

What started as my husband’s sweet gestures of love has grown into a full-blown family flower farm. Today, we grow hundreds of varieties of seasonal blooms right here in Hawkins County — all because one day I asked for seeds instead of flowers.

Now, every bouquet we create carries a little piece of that original love story. We still grow flowers for our own kitchen table… and we’re incredibly grateful we get to grow them for yours too.
